Campaigns overview
Outbound that runs ON a service you already set up: voice campaigns through the receptionist, WhatsApp template campaigns, SMS campaigns — same numbers, same agent, same suppression list.
View as MarkdownA campaign is outbound at scale — the recall list, the seasonal tune-up push, the win-back. In OpenAgent a campaign doesn't own its own infrastructure: it runs on a service you already set up. Pick the receptionist and the campaign calls; pick WhatsApp and it sends your approved template; pick SMS and it texts. The number, the agent, the compliance — all come from the service.
You never type a "send from" number into a campaign. The service is the sender — which is why a campaign can't accidentally send from an unregistered or wrong number.
Campaign types
| Type | Runs on | What happens per recipient |
|---|---|---|
| Voice | An AI receptionist service | The AI calls, runs the flow you chose, with the recipient's fields as variables ("about the $4,200 heat-pump quote…"). Paced dialing; every no-answer can feed the SMS net. |
| A WhatsApp service | Your approved template opens the conversation; the AI takes over on the reply. | |
| SMS | An SMS service | The text goes out; replies land with the SMS agent as two-way conversations. |

What campaigns are for
- Reactivation — "visited before, nothing in 90 days" gets the win-back.
- Recalls & renewals — patients due, maintenance plans expiring, memberships lapsing.
- Seasonal pushes — spring tune-ups, holiday bookings — to past-customer audiences.
- Estimate follow-ups at scale — the voice campaign that calls everyone you quoted.
Answered calls, replies, and bookings land as conversations and cards like any other door — so the campaign's value shows up as deals with attribution, not vanity metrics.
