DND & suppression

Do-not-disturb on the contact record — per channel or everything — plus the workspace-wide suppression list. STOP anywhere stops everything, and every send checks first.

DND is one switch on the person, honored everywhere. Open a contact → DND and toggle individual channels (SMS, WhatsApp, email, calls) or DND all. From that moment, every workflow notification and every campaign send checks the flag before leaving — a blocked send is skipped and logged as skipped, never silently attempted.

How opt-outs happen

EventEffect
Customer texts STOPSMS (and campaign sends) to that person stop instantly — workspace-wide, not per campaign.
WhatsApp opt-outSame: the channel flag sets and every WhatsApp send respects it.
A human sets DNDFront-desk judgment ("this person asked us not to call") becomes machine-enforced.
DND allThe master switch: no outbound of any kind, on any channel.

One suppression list

Suppression is workspace-wide. A person who opted out of the spring campaign doesn't get the summer one because the flag lives on the contact, not the campaign. Quiet hours are the second guard: sends that would land at 2am hold until morning.

Why this matters commercially

A2P registration, carrier filtering, and WhatsApp policy all punish businesses that message opted-out people. Central DND is what lets you run campaigns aggressively without burning the number's reputation.
